    ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

    Supply Chain Analytics

Competition in today’s market with new products having shorter life-cycles and growing customers’ expectations has forced many companies to focus their attention and invest in their supply chains. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the integration of key business processes from end user through original suppliers that provides products, services and information that adds value for customers and other stakeholders. Managing supply chains efficiently in firms is vital to succeed in the present context of fierce competition. Business managers must be equipped with an array of tools and techniques to deal with decisions in warehousing operations, location of facilities, layout decisions, inventory decisions, network planning and optimization, transportation decisions, etc. While the past two decades addressed the issues and problems in supply chain management, now, the firms are looking for methods, tools, techniques, models, algorithms and systems to address these issues in supply chains. The techniques that are predominantly developed from decision sciences areas like Statistics and Operations Research along with application software that are applied in the supply chain decision areas are collectively referred to as supply chain analytics. This programme focuses on such Supply Chain Analytical tools to equip practicing managers.
