    Women Leadership

    The proposed five-day training program on "Women Leadership" is designed to provide a more in-depth and immersive experience, aiming to empower and enhance the leadership skills of women professionals across various industries. In the ever-changing work landscape, fostering women's leadership is imperative for organizational success and creating a more inclusive workplace. The extended duration allows for a more comprehensive exploration of leadership concepts, providing participants with a deeper understanding and practical application of essential skills.

    • To empower women leaders with advanced skills and knowledge for effective and strategic leadership.
    • To cultivate a strong network among women professionals for ongoing support and collaboration.

    METHODOLOGY

    The five-day training program will utilize a blend of interactive workshops, case studies, group discussions, experiential learning activities, and extended practical exercises. Participants will engage in simulated scenarios and collaborative projects to reinforce their leadership capabilities. Expert facilitators will provide deep insights, share advanced practices, and guide participants in honing their leadership skills through immersive experiences.

    The program is open to women professionals from various industries and backgrounds who aspire to or currently hold leadership positions. Target participants include mid-level managers, executives, and emerging leaders seeking to develop and strengthen their leadership skills.

    Prof. Shameem S

    PhD (IIT Madras & DAAD Exchange - Technical University of Munich, Germany)

    Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations

    Dr. Shameem S is currently an Associate Professor at XLRI Jamshedpur, specializing primarily in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Industrial Relations (IR), with a secondary focus on Organizational Behavior (OB). Her academic journey began with a solid foundation in HRM as she started her career as an HR Officer at National Oxygen Limited, where she gained valuable experience in HRM practices. Her educational journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Management, specializing in HRM, from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chennai. During her doctoral studies, she achieved exceptional academic excellence, earning gold medals for her outstanding performance (University first rank holder) in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and her thesis received the `Best Thesis` award from the National Academy of Psychology (NAOP), reflecting her dedication and excellence. Transitioning to academia, Dr. Shameem S assumed faculty roles at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) and the Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai. These academic experiences further fueled her passion for HRM and OB while broadening her perspectives on these subjects. Her academic pursuits extended globally with a Guest Scientist position at the University of Gottingen in Germany, where she gained valuable international exposure and insights into HRM practices abroad. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Shameem S has made substantial contributions to HRM and OB, presenting her research papers at international conferences and publishing her work in esteemed journals and recognized media outlets. Her extensive list of publications in reputed journals underscores her significant impact in the field. Furthermore, Dr. Shameem S is known for her strong analytical skills, using advanced methods to gain deep insights into workplace dynamics, consistently bringing fresh perspectives to the field.       Influencing Through the Power of Communication

      The need to communicate has been a core human motivation. This human need has always occupied centre stage in all matters of life and business. With the world shrinking further, effective communication is breaking boundaries of human existence. Closer home, communication skill is the vital strength that anybody would like to master for effective selling, negotiating and presenting. This is a key to be a successful leader in every sphere of life. Influencing Through the Power of Communication [ITPC] programme has been refashioned to meet the ever-changing challenge of every leader, in any industry to communicate in a manner that would not only persuade the audience to see what she/he wants them to see, but also motivate them to action and achieve a particular goal. ITPC incorporates some of the recent tools from well-researched content to meet the executives’/ professionals’ need of communicating clearly and strategically from all walks of life.

      OBJECTIVES

      Through this intervention all the participants will be able to learn to analyze a situation, think critically, and communicate strategically to an audience drawn from across geographies, cultures. They will be able to effectively communicate to motivate others to collaborate and work together to achieve a common goal. They will be able to learn and apply some of the finer principles of  communication by being  the agents for change in critical moments of conflicts to drive towards a common organizational goal.

      PEDAGOGY

      The program will be conducted in a participant-centric workshop mode and in-person method. The methodology adopted will be a combination of the case method, simulations/exercises including role plays. Though mini-lectures will be used to share knowledge, it would primarily be participant focused. This programme would be of  3 days [18 hour of interaction] through an in-class method staggered across  two interactions with individual assessment and project work in between. All the sessions would be conducted at XLRI Delhi.

      Dr. Shravasti Chakravarty

      Assistant Professor at XLRI Delhi

      Dr Shravasti Chakravarty is an Assistant Professor of General Management at the XLRI-Delhi NCR campus. She teaches on the flagship BM, HRM, and executive MBA programmes. She also teaches on the various online programmes that XLRI offers. She has a PhD (English Language Education), and M.A. in English from the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. Her B.A. is from Presidency College, Calcutta University. Her teaching and research interests include Managerial Communication, developing critical thinking skills, and strategies for improved oral communication. She has numerous academic publications and presentations in various countries including Japan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Spain, France, and New Zealand. She has extensive teaching experience at the university level in India, and Uzbekistan.
